The Day The Cannons Stopped.

It was a midsummers eve the year of 24. The sky was ablaze, reds and oranges swirled upwards towards an infinity of darkness. The ocean was littered with hundreds of mismatched flags and broken hulls. A bang would pierce every waking second, accompanied by a hollow scream.

One ship in particular had it the worst. They'd been at sea for forescore and twenty years. Every member of the crew had been born aboard the tiny, dirty boat. None had ever seen land up close.
